Further to Saturday's news, Yeovil Town's Under 18s side thrashed their Bristol Rovers counterparts 4-1 on the weekend, giving them their first victory of the 2006-07 season. They had to work hard for it though, coming from a goal down and grabbing two late goals in a match that was still being heavily contested with 10 minutes to go.
Rovers took the lead from a free kick with Charles Reece curling a free kick over the Yeovil wall and into the top corner 16 minutes into the match. It looked as though Yeovil would be going in a goal down at the break until first half stoppage time gave them a real confidence booster. Jamie Morgan capitalised on Rovers' inability to clear their lines when he pounced on a loose ball in their box, finishing with a low drive to make the scoreline 1-1 at half time.
Five minutes after the break, Jamie Morgan was at it again. His cross into the box was badly misjudged by Rovers keeper Scott Armstrong, who managed to fumble what was probably not meant to be a direct attempt on goal into his own net.
The game stayed delicately balanced for more or less the rest of the second half with Rovers attempting to push up for the equaliser, but in the last 10 minutes, the Glovers secured all three points in fine fashion. On 81 minutes, Liam Hoarder squeezed between two Rovers defenders to head home a right wing cross. Then two minutes later, Hoarder got his second of the morning when he intercepted a Ryan Paddock defensive pass to burst through and give Stuart Housley something to smile about with a 4-1 victory.
