Yeovil Town drew 0-0 against Sporting Lokeren tonight in a game played in Zelzate, near Ghent. A strong Yeovil Town line-up matched Lokeren in an interesting game, that ultimately fizzled out towards the end.
The only downside to the game was a serious injury to Gavin Williams that is expected to be diagnosed as ankle ligament damage. The situation was complicated by the lack of a stretcher in the ground, caused no doubt in part due to the hasty rearrangement of the venue for the game. Williams is now expected to miss the rest of the pre-season campaign, but still hopes to get himself back to fitness for the start of the season proper.
More details on the match, and the experiences of those who have travelled over to Belgium are expected to follow over the weekend.
