20 June 2006 : Carling Cup Draw Tomorrow
The First Round of the Carling Cup will be drawn tomorrow at 12.00 noon, with Yeovil Town hoping that they get lucky through the seeding system that is maintained from last season. The Glovers are unsurprisingly in the Southern half of the draw, and are in the unseeded half of the pot. The draw will pair off a seeded side against an unseeded side, thus giving Yeovil a strong chance of drawing a Championship level club.

Yeovil Town will therefore play one of the following 18 clubs:

Southern Seeds: 1 Birmingham City, 2 West Bromwich Albion, 3 Crystal Palace, 4 Coventry City, 5 Norwich City, 6 Luton Town, 7 Cardiff City, 8 Southampton, 9 Plymouth Argyle, 10 Ipswich Town, 11 Queens Park Rangers, 12 Southend United, 13 Colchester United, 14 Millwall, 15 Brighton & Hove Albion, 16 Brentford, 17 Swansea City, 18 Bristol City.

The clubs who are unseeded in the Southern Half of the draw are as follows:

Southern Unseeded: 19 Gillingham, 20 Yeovil Town, 21 AFC Bournemouth, 22 Northampton Town, 23 Leyton Orient, 24 Cheltenham Town, 25 Milton Keynes Dons, 26 Swindon Town, 27 Walsall, 28 Wycombe Wanderers, 29 Peterborough United, 30 Shrewsbury Town, 31 Boston United, 32 Bristol Rovers, 33 Barnet, 34 Torquay United, 35 Notts County, 36 Hereford United.

The Northern clubs involved in the competition are as follows:

Northern Seeded: Sunderland, Preston North End, Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Stoke City, Leicester City, Burnley, Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County, Barnsley, Crewe Alexandra, Huddersfield Town, Nottingham Forest, Doncaster Rovers, Oldham Athletic, Bradford City, Scunthorpe United.
