Yeovil Town are believed to be close to unveiling a series of signings this week, with several names now appearing on the rumourmill as being connected with moves to Huish Park.
Russell Slade has been linked with several players since he was announced as manager earlier this month and after capturing goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall today, more announcements are expected between today and the end of the week. Today's Western Daily Press states that a striker could be the first to be unveiled.
Slade told the paper that the club concerned are currently in the Championship and added: "Things are progressing well but I don't want to say anything until the player has signed his name on the contract."
The main name on the rumourmill at present is Southend United striker Wayne Gray. The 25 year old has spent two seasons in Essex after coming up through the pre-Franchise Wimbledon's academy structure.
Not too surprisingly, the Western Daily Press also speculates on a couple of out of contract Grimsby Town players, with winger Andy Parkinson and left-back/winger Tom Newey named as two strong possibilities. They also repeat two of their earlier suggestions, with Swansea City winger Adrian Forbes and former Oldham Athletic right-back Terrell Forbes both mentioned. Of course, the club have already stated their interest in bringing West Ham United midfielder Chris Cohen to Huish Park.
The numbers signed up will obviously not only depend upon Russell Slade's ability to agree terms with any of the players he is chasing, but also upon the decisions made by Paul Terry, Andy Lindegaard and Colin Miles in terms of whether they accept the deals on offer to them that are expected to expire at the end of today.
