Yeovil Town have announced that they have signed up 18 year old midfielder Stephen Maher on a two year contract. The player was previously with Dublin City where he played for their Under 21 side.
Stephen has been in football from a young age, playing in academy sides for Home Farm and Cherry Orchard in the Republic of Ireland. At 16 years old he moved on to the more established name of Shelbourne and then on to Dublin City.
Stephen made his debut for the Republic of Ireland Under 18s side as a substitute on April 5th 2006 against Hungary in a 1-0 win. In the same month he also played and scored for an Eircom League Youth representative side against an AUL Youth side.
The very best of luck to Stephen in settling into England and his stay in Somerset over the next two years.
