One bit of Welsh international news we can confirm is that Arron Davies and Dale Williams have been called up to the squad that will play Estonia on Wednesday 24th May at the Racecourse Ground in Wrexham. Kick off for the match is at 5.30pm. Wales hold a 2-0 advantage on the first leg of the UEFA Under 21 Championship, Preliminary Round Play-off match.
Congratulations to Arron once again, but in particular to Dale, for whom this is his first call-up for a competitive fixture at this level, having come on as a substitute at Under 21 level yesterday against Cyprus.
Squad: Lewis Price (Ipswich Town), Sam Pearce (Bristol City), Chris Gunter (Cardiff City), Simon Spender (Wrexham), Craig Morgan (MK Dons), Rhoys Wiggins (Crystal Palace), Mike Williams (Wrexham), Gareth Bale (Southampton), Shaun McDonald (Swansea City), Arron Davies (Yeovil Town), Lloyd James (Southampton), David Edwards (Shrewsbury Town), Andrew Crofts (Gillingham), Rob Davies (WBA), Curtis McDonald (Cardiff City), Dale Williams (Yeovil Town), Ramon Calliste (Liverpool), Craig Davies (Hellas Verona).
Of course squad selection may be affected for this game if the Welsh authorities feel it is asking too much for their players to play in both the full international against a Basque XI on Sunday as well as the Wednesday night match in Wrexham. Craig Davies, Craig Morgan and Gareth Bale have already been called up for the Sunday full international, and so it remains to be seen as to whether this will have a knock-on effect for Wednesday's U21 international.
