Outgoing Yeovil Town Ladies manager Lee Burch is to take up a similar post with London Bees for the 2019-20 season. Having managed at FAWSL1 level for the 2018-19 season, Burch is to team up with the club that share Barnet's The Hive ground, following a year with the female Glovers. The lure for Burch will be that the Bees will be playing at Championship level, whilst Yeovil will be one division lower in the Women's National League, after their forced double relegation.
Speaking on Wednesday, Burch confirmed that he was leaving Yeovil Town Ladies. At that time, it was not clear that London Bees were his destination - he instead focussed upon his time in Somerset and thanked those who had made his stay an enjoyable one:
"I have officially left Yeovil Town Ladies Football Club. I wish to thank every staff member, player, board member, college staff and fan for their support throughout the season. I've felt nothing but support during my time and have enjoyed the opportunity to manage this excellent club. Although the circumstances at the end of the season were not what we wanted, I'm proud of the performances of everyone in what was a challenging season on and off the field. I believe the club is in good hands going forward and I will now be a supporter of YTLFC and hope they get back to where they deserve to be. Thank you to everyone again."
At present, Yeovil Town Ladies haven't given an indication of their direction following Burch's departure but club owner Steve Allinson praised Burch for his commitment during the last season:
"I know that I speak for all involved with Yeovil Town Ladies in thanking Lee for his commitment and hard work over the last season. He always remained positive even through the difficult times and all fans enjoyed the style of football that he tried to play. We wish him well in his future career."
