Yeovil Town's Huish Park stadium will once again stage the final of the High Holborne Shield this week. The Under-12s local cup competition has historically been the played as one of the final matches before the pitch is closed for its usual summer maintenance. This final has seen the likes of Chris Weale, Craig Alcock and Martin Cranie compete in it, so those who have turned out have sometimes ended up on the Huish Park pitch many years later in their lives.
This year's final will see Aller Park Rangers (based in Somerton), take on East Coker Cockerels in the final. The match will be played on Wednesday 8th May at Huish Park with a 7.00p.m. kick-off. The gates will open an hour earlier. Admission prices are £5.00 for adults, which includes a free programme, whilst Under-16s can gain admission free of charge. All local football fans are invited to attend.
