Yeovil Town have made their second signing of the January transfer window. The Glovers have brought in winger Alex Dobre from AFC Bournemouth, ahead of their League Two trip to Mansfield Town. His birthname is Mihai-Alexandru, but he is more commonly known as Alex.
Born in Bucharest on August 30th 1998 (aged 20) he signed for Bournemouth in August 2016 from Romanian top-flight outfit Viitorul Constanta. He is a Romanian youth international who has had previous loan experience with Bury and Rochdale. His spell with the Shakers saw him make 12 appearances in League One, whilst his later Rochdale spell saw him make five substitute appearances, scoring one goal. He is a Romania Under-21 international, making five appearances at that level. So far he's not got onto the pitch for Bournemouth's first team but has been an unused substitute in the League Cup games with Milton Keynes Dons and Blackburn Rovers and the FA Cup Third Round match against Brighton and Hove Albion this season. Manager Darren Way has said of his arrival at the club:
"It's taken a lot of hard work and consideration from AFC Bournemouth to get this deal over the line. I'd like to thank Eddie Howe for allowing an international talent to continue his development with us."
His loan spell with the Glovers will keep him at the club until the end of the 2018-19 season. He is the second addition to the Glovers squad, following the arrival of Chelsea defender Joshua Grant earlier today. He will wear the No.25 shirt during his time at Huish Park.
