Saturday's opponents Mansfield Town may have a new goalkeeper between the sticks on Saturday. They have signed up Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Jordan Smith on loan until the end of the season. The 24 year old comes in as a replacement for former Glovers loanee Jake Kean who has left Field Mill this week, following the expiry of his short term contract with them, during which he failed to get off the substitutes bench.
Mansfield's first choice goalkeeper Bobby Olejnik suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury last month and has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2018-19 season. That problem led them to bring in Kean as cover, but Conrad Logan has ended up playing in the last five matches for the Stags.
They've now turned to their fourth goalkeeper of the season, with Smith having last played during a single game loan spell with Barnsley back in November 2018. However, last season he played 32 times for Nottingham Forest, with all bar three of those appearances coming at Championship level. He's also had loan experience with Ilkeston and Nuneaton Town earlier in his career.
Regardless of the goalkeeper situation, Mansfield will have to make at least one adjustment to their starting line-up on Saturday. Midfielder Neal Bishop picked up a red card in their 3-2 defeat at Carlisle United last Saturday, and he serves a one match suspension. The defeat at the Brunton Park broke a 17 game unbeaten run - only the second time they'd lost in League Two this season.
