Yeovil Town winger/striker Yoann Arquin has extended his stay at Huish Park. The former Notts County and Mansfield Town player was out of contract at the club in early January, but has agreed new terms that will keep him at the club for a further six months, taking him until the 2018-19 season ends.
So far, the 30 year old has scored four goals in 24 appearances, since arriving as a trialist in pre-season. His most recent goal came in the 1-1 draw with Northampton Town on December 22nd, that got heavily featured around the national media, with him netting a 30 yard volley in the 89th minute of the game. Manager Darren Way has said that the agreement is a boost for the club:
"Yoann has been a very important player for us in the first half of the season so to secure his services for the remainder of the campaign is a big boost for us all. Yoann knows he has to keep working hard week in, week out but his signature is a boost as we head towards the January transfer window. I look forward to continuing to work with him and seeing what the remainder of the season has in store."
Arquin himself has said that he is glad to get his future sorted and is looking forward to the second half of the season:
"I'm very happy to have extended my contract with Yeovil and already can't wait for the rest of the season. I've enjoyed my time so far as a Glover and have loved working with the gaffer and the rest of the squad. With my future decided I'm determined to keep doing everything I can for the team, continuing at Tranmere on Saturday."
