Yeovil Town midfielder Sessi D'Almeida has been called up into the Benin national squad for the forthcoming international weekend. His call-up, which is a factor in the club's home match against Lincoln City being called off, has been confirmed, meaning that he will travel to Gambia on November 17th 2018 in an AFCON Qualifier match.
D'Almeida became a national hero during last month's match against Algeria when he scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 victory over Algeria - the first time Benin had ever beaten them, and keeping Benin in strong contention to qualify for next summer's finals, which take place between June 15th and July 13th 2019 in Cameroon.
