16 August 2018 : Bury vs Yeovil Town : Man Of The Match Result
The opening day of the 2018-19 season saw Yeovil Town travel to Bury's Gigg Lane ground. The end result was an 89th minute 1-0 defeat, not helped by red cards dished out to Tom James and Jordan Green that put their team on the back foot.

Man of the Match voting saw two of this season's summer signings impress. Centre-back Shaun Donnellan was one of the old boys who impressed on the day, whilst goalkeeper Nathan Baxter's debut as a Chelsea loanee was an impressive one as he helped keep his side in the game right up until the penultimate minute. However, the poll winner by a comfortable margin was former Blackpool midfielder Sessi D'Almeida, who was also making his debut.

Full results are as follows, with outright MOTM votes shown in brackets:

1. Sessi D'Almeida 114 (9)
2. Nathan Baxter 50 (3)
