2 August 2018 : Yeovil Town Linked With Former Birmingham Midfielder
Yeovil Town are being linked with a move for former Birmingham City midfielder Wes McDonald. He is an ex-Fulham and Crystal Palace academy player who left London as a 16 year old to sign for the Midlands side, but was told he was free to find a new club earlier this year. He's been noted as playing all the way across the midfield area, including both wing positions, although the view of Birmingham fans is that he is predominantly a right winger.

Born in Lambeth on May 4th 1997, he made his move from Fulham in December 2013, playing through Birmingham's Under-18s and Under-23 sides. He also had loan spells with non-league sides Nuneaton (in February 2016) and Solihull Moors, playing on five occasions for the latter side during the early part of the 2017-18 season.

Back in February 2018, McDonald was one of four Birmingham junior players who were told that they were free to find other clubs. He played for Queens Park Rangers Under-23s in March 2018 as a trialist, but that did not lead to anything concrete.

The claims linking McDonald with a move to Yeovil Town are made by a former Sky Sports journalist, who now acts a freelancer producing articles for various national commercial websites. He was one of the two Football Insider journalists who covered this week's story concerning Tom James.
