Within half an hour of this morning's news breaking concerning Yeovil Town defender Tom James, the club themselves have now put out a statement confirming today's events. They have stated that they have agreed an 'undisclosed sum' that will provide the club's 'record transfer fee received for a defender'. In the club's statement, they do not name the interested club, but they tag the article with West Bromwich Albion, inadvertantly confirming that they are the club that placed the bid. Thus it seems fairly obvious that it is the reported £400,000 offer that has been circulating this week.
The club say that James will now discuss personal terms and undergo a medical ahead of the move. As such, we'd expect this situation to be completely resolved within the next 24 hours.
