Yeovil Town Under-18s were in action on Saturday, when they took on Poole Town at Tatnam Farm, in Dorset, in a pre-season friendly. The match was an unusual one, in that it took place at the same time that the first team were playing Corby Town, meaning that with the Dolphins playing the 2018-19 season in Southern League Premier South, they were challenging a team that will be playing one level higher than the first team's opponents during the coming season.
The Under-18 side that travelled to Poole also had to deal with the fact that three of their personnel - Tyrique Spencer-Clarke, Gabriel Rogers and Daniel Ojo - were up in Northamptonshire with the first team squad. As such, those that headed down to South Dorset did well to hold their seventh tier opponents to a 2-0 scoreline, with both of Poole's goals being scored during the final 20 minutes. Sam Griffin's 70th minute goal was quickly followed up by a 75th minute strike from Olly Balmer to give the Dorset side victory.
Final Score: Poole Town 2 Yeovil Town Under-18s 0.
