Former Yeovil Town midfielder Lawson D'Ath will stay in League Two for the 2018-19 season, despite being part of Luton Town's promotion-winning squad. The 25 year old was released by the Hatters at the end of last season, but has signed a one year contract with Milton Keynes Dons who have headed in the other direction.
Under the new management of Paul Tisdale, Milton Keynes have already signed up midfielder Ryan Watson from Barnet as well as raiding his old club Exeter City for defender Jordan Moore-Taylor, with Tisdale taking advantage of a release clause that he presumably had a hand in inserting himself at St James Park. D'Ath now joins them, with the former Reading academy graduate having had a 2013 loan spell at Exeter, meaning that he is already familiar with Tisdale's way of working.
He has also experienced promotion out of League Two twice, having been part of Northampton Town's 2015-16 title winning squad, before gaining automatic promotion with Luton Town in 2017-18. D'Ath reveals that he is already a resident of Milton Keynes, and so won't need to do any relocation as part of his move:
"I've played under Paul before and I know what he's about and how he wants to play football. It's how I want to play. I'm just looking forward to working with him again. I live two minutes away from the stadium and I've kept an eye out for the team. It's a great stadium and I canít wait to play here."
D'Ath had a 14 game loan spell with Yeovil Town during the 2011-12 season, but also trialled for the club in the summer of 2014 during a couple of pre-season friendlies before moving on to Northampton just before the 2014-15 season started.
