Ciderspace News Page : Friendly Arranged With Gillingham Town
21 May 2018 : Friendly Arranged With Gillingham Town
Yeovil Town have arranged a second pre-season friendly for the 2018-19 season. The club have agreed to visit Dorset Premier League side Gillingham Town on Monday 30th July, at their new Woodwater Lane ground. The North Dorset side played their last match on their old Hardings Lane pitch at the end of last season, and have decided to move with the aim of ultimately re-entering the Western League and then setting the club up to challenge for the Southern League based on their new facilities.

At present, we don't know what sort of a standard of Yeovil Town side will take part in this match - sometimes games at this sort of level involve the club's Academy side - but with Gillingham highlighting the game as their chance to showcase the new pitch - which will be opened earlier in the month against Sturminster Newton United - it may be that the club use it as a 'final warm-up' match before the 2018-19 season starts on the following weekend.

At present, Gillingham Town have not confirmed the kick-off time for this future. There is currently one other confirmed first team friendly, with League One side Plymouth Argyle visiting Huish Park on Saturday 21st July, with a 3.00p.m. kick-off.
