Last month, it was claimed that Yeovil Town defender Tom James was being watched by a trio of clubs. The Independent newspaper named AFC Bournemouth, Swansea City and Scottish Premiership side Celtic as sending scouts to watch him play. This morning, the Official Tom James Fan Club membership has grown, with the West London Sport website (a derivative of an unspecified local newspaper group) now claiming that Championship sides Brentford and Aston Villa are also interested in him.
Once again, there are no sources or quotes to back up their claims. The article merely states that Brentford "are among clubs monitoring" Tom James, referencing the slightly different list of clubs. Since the Independent produced their article in mid-March, there's been no further sign of the original trio of clubs stepping forward and confirming their intentions.
All of this can be added to last month's claims that Bristol City were chasing defender Shaun Donnellan, despite him only having played two games for the Glovers at that time. We're either reaching the 'silly season' a little earlier than we normally do, or Yeovil Town may need to allocate a special section in their ground for visiting scouts at Huish Park to fit them all in. We'll have to wait until the summer months for anything concrete to transpire here.
