Reports suggest that there will be a pitch inspection for Tuesday night's EFL Trophy Semi-Final tie against Shrewsbury Town. The match is due to take place on Tuesday 27th February 2018 at the New Meadow with a 7.45p.m. kick-off, however wintry weather and forecasts for freezing temperatures have put the match in some doubt, even though the home side have had their pitch covered since last Wednesday.
The Sky Sports website suggests that there will the a 12.00 noon pitch inspection at the ground, with their match preview for the game stating:
"With freezing weather conditions hitting the UK this week, a pitch inspection is expected at noon on Tuesday before a decision will be made on whether the game goes ahead."
As yet, neither club has firmly stated that there will be an inspection. However, as Sky Sports are televising the match, it is quite likely that they will have been informed of arrangements for the benefit of their own broadcast crew. The timing also seems sensible given that Ridlers Coaches would be leaving the Dulverton area to head to Yeovil to pick up supporters from Huish Park at 1.45p.m.
If we get a firm indication of the inspection, or its outcome we'll post another update.
