Yeovil Town made a new signing ahead of tonight's FA Cup tie against Manchester United. They have snapped up 27 year old Motherwell striker Alex Fisher who has also had spells with Oxford United, Mansfield Town and Torquay United. This is a permanent transfer, with the Scottish Premier League side having brought in two new strikers during the January transfer window - he signed up until the end of the 2018-19 season - i.e. an 18 month contract.
He has arrived on a free transfer with his international clearance having come in time for him to play against Manchester United. He had struggled to make the breakthrough at Motherwell, having not scored in 19 appearances. He was more prolific though with his previous club Inverness Caledonian Thistle where he scored eight goals in 28 appearances in what had been his first spell north of the border.
He spent the 2015-16 season on the books of Torquay, whilst his career started with Oxford United. He also spent a year on the books of Mansfield Town during the 2014-15 campaign.
