Yeovil Town have agreed a new contract with defender Tom James. The former Cardiff City player has been given a 'new and improved' deal following a season that has seen him become a first team regular. On this occasion, Tom's contract length doesn't change - he remains contracted until the summer of 2019, but this presumably provides higher wages and/or a higher guaranteed value should an opposition club come in for him.
The 21 year old has now made 29 appearances for the club, scoring one goal along the way, and has operated in both right-back and left-back positions throughout the season. He has said of his new contract:
"I'm really pleased to have signed a new deal at the club. Hopefully now I can repay the gaffer's trust in me and continue to improve and help the team push forward in the right direction."
