The ball numbers for the Quarter-Final draw in the EFL Trophy have been published by the Football League. The draw will take place live on Sky Sports' evening review show, EFL Matters on Thursday 11th January (tonight). EFL Matters is broadcast at 7.00p.m. on the Sky Sports Football channel, with the draw taking place at approximately 7.15p.m. The programme will be hosted by David Prutton, alongside guests Garry Birtles and Gregor Robertson.
There was one more tie settled on Wednesday evening, meaning that seven out of the eight places are now certain - the only issue that needs to be settled is the tie between Oldham Athletic and Leicester City Under-21s which was called off due to the Boundary Park pitch being frozen.
The ball numbers are as follows:
1. Chelsea U21
2. Fleetwood Town
3. Lincoln City
4. Oxford United
5. Peterborough United
6. Shrewsbury Town
7. Yeovil Town
8. Oldham Athletic/Leicester City U21
Quarter-Final ties are determined by means of a straight home/away unseeded draw. There will be no regionalisation. All Quarter-Final fixtures will be played week commencing 22nd January 2018.
Note, that being drawn away against one of the two remaining Under-21 sides does not necessarily mean the tie will be staged on that round. For Chelsea Under-21s Third Round tie against Portsmouth, they were drawn out at home, but the match ended up being switched to Stamford Bridge. This switch was requested by Chelsea, rather than being a competition-driven rule, due to fixture congestion on their home ground.
