National tabloid paper reports link Yeovil Town attacking midfielder Otis Khan with two League One sides. The 22 year old former Barnsley player and Manchester United academy member is supposedly being 'chased' by Bradford City and Peterborough United, if you believe the wisdom of The Sun newspaper.
They suggest that both clubs are after him, citing his performance in the FA Cup Third Round against Bradford as a reason why they are interested, whilst they also speculate that if Peterborough lose forward Jack Marriott then they will be wanting a replacement to come into their side, with Marriott linked by various tabloids with moves to Aston Villa, Hull City or Leeds United.
As is often the case with such January transfer window stories, there are no quotes and no sources provided. However, with Khan having scored ten goals from a wide position in the first half of the season, there has been inevitable speculation about how long the Glovers would last without a formal bid coming in for him. The Sun's article stops short of suggesting either team has done that, but this is the first time we've seen named teams claimed as being interested in Khan.
Even The Sun suggest that any such interest will be thwarted by Khan's chance to face his boyhood club in the FA Cup Fourth Round on the weekend of January 27th, although clearly that would still leave three or four days between those matches taking place, and the transfer window closing. This therefore may be one to keep an eye on during that final week.
