Yeovil Town Academy defender Jeremiah Gyebi got himself on the scoresheet on his debut this afternoon. The 19 year old needed just seven minutes to make an impact, and impress Poole Town supporters, as he started his one month loan spell with the Dolphins today. In a National League Souyth match played at their Tatnam Ground, Poole won 3-1, with Gyebi getting their third.
The centre-back's 87th minute goal was all the more impressive because he had been named as a substitute for his first match against Weston-super-Mare and had only been on the pitch for seven minutes when he put Poole 3-0 up, with earlier goals from Steve Devlin and Warren Bentley. Gyebi replaced Bentley in the 80th minute, and helped seal all three points for his side, with Gethin Hill's injury time goal merely a consolation for the visitors.
Poole finished the day in 20th position in the National League South table, but now have four clubs within touching distance just above them, giving them a chance of getting out of the relegation zone in the near future.
