The Glovers Trust have announced the addition of three new appointments to the Trust board for the 2017-18 season. On completion of the nomination process, they have brought Ryan Blatchford, Rod Jones and Dean Mountain in as Board members. They will join Brendon Owen, Simon Brimble, Stuart Burrell and Andrew Richardson who all served on the Board last season.
The constitution of the Trust allows for up to ten Board members to be elected. As there were only three nominations on this occasion, the election process becomes unnecessary as there remains an excess of Board positions. They therefore become automatically elected. Of the three new Board members, Rod had already been working with the 2016-17 Board as a co-opted member, but now takes his position on a formal basis, whilst Dean had been acting as Trust Secretary. Ryan comes in as an existing member, and a fresh face for the Board. A Trust statement says:
"As there were more places on the Board available than nominations received there is no need for an election to decide who will join the Board following the AGM in October. We are naturally disappointed that the full democratic process of electing new members to the Board via voting has not been possible. Healthy competition for places is always a more preferable outcome but the Trust will continue to grow and we are confident that the three new Board members will help to make the Trust stronger."
Ahead of their 2017 AGM, the Glovers Trust plan to discuss their direction for the 2017-18 season. As always, the direction is shaped by its members and so they want to hear from supporters as to what their key topics for the twelve month period should be. The Trust add:
"The new members will shortly be integrated with the existing Board members and we will collectively discuss the plans and approach for the coming year. As always feedback from Trust members is invaluable so please communicate with your Board via Twitter, Facebook, email or face to face in the Marquee and The Arrow on home match days."
With Dean Mountain now moving into a dedicated Board position, the Trust now have a vacancy for a new Secretary – if you wish to volunteer for this role or would like more details then please contact the Trust via email@example.com - use this email for any other points you wish to make.
The Glovers Trust were due to meet yesterday with Supporters Director David Mills to request an update on progress from their last meeting with the club. The plan is to release further detail on the outcome of that meeting in due course.
