Saturday afternoon sees Yeovil Town play their penultimate pre-season friendly, before the 2017-18 season properly starts. They will be travelling to Southern League Premier Division side Tiverton Town on Saturday 29th July, for a 3.00p.m. kick-off at Ladysmead. At one point this was almost an annual journey - we played them nine times in Devon between 2000 and 2008 (including one FA Trophy match) but after a slightly odd decision to play one such friendly at Huish Park in 2009, we haven't seen each other since.
For those travelling to the match, details of how to get there are as follows:
Address: Ladysmead, Bolham Road, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6SG
Firstly, drive to Junction 27 on the M5 - for most people this will involve getting onto the M5 at Taunton and heading Westbound towards Exeter. Head towards Tiverton on the A361 dual carriageway travelling for about seven miles. IGNORE the first junction for A396 Tiverton and Bickleigh (Gornhay Cross) and keep going (this is important) a little further until you reach a large roundabout.
Turn left at the roundabout take first exit (A3126) for the Town Centre and Castle, continue along that road for about 400 yds crossing a new roundabout, passing a college, and Tiverton's youth sections field on the left and Tiverton Rugby Club on right until you meet a mini roundabout. You will notice the Exe Valley Leisure Centre on your left. Go straight across (first exit) the mini roundabout. You will see Ladysmead to your right. Go along that road for about 200 yds and turn right into Ladysmead.
Tiverton have opted to charge their standard League admission for their pre-season friendlies which is as follows:
Adults: £9.00; Concessions: £6.50; Under 16s: £1.00.
Update: These prices are confirmed as bring in place for Saturday afternoon's match.
