The Yeovil Town faithful left Huish Park stunned last night after their side was denied three valuable points by a last-minute of injury-time MK Dons equaliser. The Glovers knew nothing less than the win was required but the draw leaves Steve Thompsonís men just one point from the relegation zone.
Yeovil dictated the possession in the first half and will rue again failing to produce in the final third of the pitch. Phil Jevons twice had decent chances to score but couldnít beat Matt Baker from a one-on-one and failed to connect to a superb ball from Anthony Barry. The home side looked the more threatening in the first period, though Chris Weale was called upon to save a Scott Taylor shot from point blank range.
To the bemusement of the 5,041 crowd, in form Dons striker Izale McLeod missed an absolute sitter on 57 minutes after rounding Weale in the penalty area but incredibly directed his shot wide of the empty net. Kevin Gall, who had an effort ruled out earlier by the linesman's flag, broke the stalemate in the 71st minute after being put through by a Chris Cohen pass for his first goal since early September and his second of the season. Just as it was looking job done, Ben Harding fired an unstoppable effort into the top corner, leaving Weale no chance in the Yeovil goal.
