Yeovil Town have given a full professional contract to youth team player Ollie Bassett. The deal sees him signed up until June 2017 - an eighteen month contract - that will hopefully give the 17 year old a chance to build on the two Football League appearances he has made so far this season.
Ollie, who made his debut against Crawley Town under former boss Paul Sturrock, is originally from Leicestershire, and has been on the books of Aston Villa and Southampton during his earlier development years, but joined Yeovil's reformed Academy system in July of this year. In addition to his two League appearances, he has also warmed the bench on a number of other occasions.
Our congratulations to him, and hope this is the first of several players to make that step through the club's new youth system.
