Yeovil Town's on loan central defender Shane Duffy has been edged out in tonight's Republic of Ireland international awards. The Everton loanee was nominated for his country's Under-21 player of the year at an awards ceremony in Dublin tonight. However, the award has tonight been given to Watford midfielder Sean Murray, who has played 33 times for the Hornets at Championship level this season, scoring six goals.
Both Murray and Duffy will spent the next three days in each other's company, with both due to play in the Republic's Under-21 UEFA Championship Qualifier match against Montenegro that takes place on Wednesday afternoon at the Tallaght Stadium.
Needless to say, well done to Shane on getting as far as being nominated, during a year that he has flourished as a Yeovil Town loan player.
