Yeovil Town are being linked with a move for Aldershot striker Brett Williams. The 26 year old has scored 16 goals in 25 appearances so far this season and a Sky Sports journalist is claiming that the Glovers have joined Bristol City, Bradford City and Leyton Orient in pursuit of the player.
Born in Southampton, and having played for Eastleigh Winchester City and AFC Totton during the early stages of his career, he is a former Reading trainee, who spent time on loan at Rotherham United before moving to Northampton Town for the second half of the 2011-12 season - after Glovers boss Gary Johnson had departed Sixfields. He spent much of the 2012-13 season on loan at Woking and has had a largely unassuming career until this season, which has seen him become Aldershot's main striker - including eight goals in the last six matches, with a November hat-trick against Southport.
In all honesty, the list of clubs Sky Sports provide imply a player's agent is pulling the strings here, in trying to get his player noticed at a national level. But on the other hand it would be a surprise if a player who had scored 16 goals in just over half a season wasn't attracting a few scouts to the Recreation Ground. Whether there is serious interest is another matter.
