Yeovil Town have announced the results of a poll that will see them unveil a 'Team of the Decade' this afternoon. The eleven players, who are made up from those who took part in the club's first ten years in the Football League, were chosen via a Twitter-based fans poll and provide a 4-4-2 formation that is as follows:
Craig Alcock, Terry Skiverton, Steven Caulker, Nathan Jones
Gavin Williams, Darren Way, Lee Johnson, Chris Cohen
Paddy Madden, Phil Jevons
Of the players who are not directly involved in the club, most are still have a high profile position in football. Chris Weale is Shrewsbury Town's goalkeeper, whilst Craig Alcock plays for Peterborough United. Steven Caulker became Cardiff City's record transfer over the summer of 2013 after he left Spurs, whilst Nathan Jones was a recent visitor to Huish Park as Brighton and Hove Albion's assistant manager.
Gavin Williams joined Woking over the summer, and Lee Johnson is managing Oldham Athletic. Chris Cohen is a second player who has been back at Huish Park this season, with Nottingham Forest still his current club. Finally Phil Jevons is on the books of Stockport County where he has had a prolific start to the season.
All of the above players are planned to attend today's match against Wigan Athletic, where they will be presented to the crowd, with plans for them to go out onto the pitch around 2.30p.m. and then if time allows at half time.
