Yeovil Town midfielder Arron Davies scored a goal that capped an excellent performance last night for Wales U21 as they defeated Malta's U21 side 3-1 at Stebonheath Park, Llanelli.
Davies, who sportinglife.com described in their match report as The Welshmen's "improving midfield architect" netted in the 74th minute to put Wales 3-0 up and although Malta grabbed a late consolation goal the earlier strikes from Andrew Crofts (Gillingham) and Mark Pritchard (Swansea City) along with the third from Davies had already won the game. Arron also provided the assist for the opening goal from Crofts, having delivered the corner that opened the scoring.
Sporting Life put in a glowing report of Arron's contribution to the match saying of the goal: "Arron Davies, who had orchestrated midfield well throughout, got the goal his industry deserved on 74 minutes when he cruised onto a Stuart Fleetwood (Cardiff City) pass before confidently beating Paris with a low shot into the bottom corner."
The next stop for the Wales U21 side is the UEFA U-21 qualifier against England on September 2nd, and with Arron having played a full 90 minutes last night, it seems inevitable that he will be involved again.
