Yeovil Town will be playing a pre-season friendly against Crediton United on Tuesday night. The match against the South West Peninsula League Division One East side will take place on Tuesday 24th July at their Lords Meadow ground, with a 7.30p.m. kick-off.
Given the first team already have a pre-season match against Dorchester Town at the Avenue Stadium on the same night, the team sent down to Devon will doubtless be an Under-18 side. The club scholars have already had one pre-season friendly this month, with a 5-1 win over Mere Town last Monday.
Crediton are managed by former Yeovil Town striker Warren Patmore, whose teams have regularly featured in friendly matches since his move down to Devon. Wazza has been their manager since the back end of the 2010-11 season. In his first full season in charge they managed a fourth place finish, and he is hoping that he can build on that during the 2012-13 season, saying over the summer break:
"I worked hard last year getting players to the club, it was quite difficult just to get them here. We finished fourth and we should be able to keep the nucleus of the side together and I have had players come to me asking to join. Success breeds success and it should be easier to bring players in this year. This club should be higher than it is and I've got to try to make that happen."
To get to the ground, follow signs for Crediton Leisure Centre, which is situated on the east side of the town, close to the A3072, and is a relatively short walk from Crediton railway station. There is a choice of two car parks. The Crediton United Clubhouse is best accessed from the main Leisure Centre Car Park but the ground is best accessed from the overflow car park.
Address: Lords Meadow Sports Centre, Crediton, Devon, EX17 1ER.
