Former Yeovil Town loanee Steven Caulker has received a call-up for the London 2012 Olympics. The 20 year old Tottenham Hotspur defender has been included in a squad of eighteen players named by boss Stuart Pearce today that will represent the Team GB side in the football tournaments later this month.
Caulker has continued to show good progress since picking up the Player Of The Season Awards at Huish Park just over two years ago, spending a season each on loan with Bristol City and Swansea City, and having won four England Under-21 caps already, this will doubtless be another chance to prove himself.
Caulker is the youngest outfield player named in Pearce's squad, with only goalkeeper Jack Butland less advanced in years than the Feltham born player. The full squad named on the FA's website is as follows:
