Former Yeovil Town striker Andy Williams has, as expected, been formally unveiled as a Swindon Town player this afternoon. The 25 year old, who left the club on a free transfer at the end of last season, has joined the Robins along with Shrewsbury Town's James Collins and former Huddersfield Town winger Gary Roberts (not to be confused with the former Glovers midfielder).
Williams has signed a two year contract at the County Ground - undoubtedly one of the worst kept secrets of the summer, given rumours of the Wiltshire side's interest in the player were circulating at Huish Park even before the 2011-12 season was over, with a rather lucrative wage believed to be on the table.
Just before the weekend, Swindon boss Paolo di Canio confirmed he had an interest in the Hereford born player - he will now be on their books until the summer of 2014, and will of course come up against his ex-team-mates twice during the forthcoming 2012-13 season.
