Yeovil Town now know their schedule for the 2012-13 season, after the Football League published their fixture lists for the forthcoming campaign. The forty-six fixtures will see them play their first ever League matches against Portsmouth, Crawley Town and Coventry City, as well as a trip to a fourth new ground, with Shrewsbury Town playing at a new stadium since we last visited Shropshire.
The Glovers open their season on or around Tuesday 14th August (date to be absolutely confirmed) with a League Cup First Round home fixture against Colchester United, but the League One season starts on Saturday 18th August with their first ever Football League match against Coventry City, with the Sky Blues heading down to Huish Park. That's then immediately followed up with a midweeker against Brentford at Griffin Park.
Christmas fixtures always capture the imagination, and this season's Boxing Day fixture sees a trip to AFC Bournemouth for Glovers fans, whilst the corresponding New Year's Day game has Leyton Orient at Huish Park. Sandwiched in the middle is a Christmas holiday trip to Portsmouth - the club's first visit to Fratton Park. The season finishes off with a match against Bury at Gigg Lane on Saturday 27th April 2013.
Finally, as for those who enjoy visiting new stadiums, that quartet of games will see Yeovil travel to Shrewsbury Town (Tuesday 23rd October), Crawley Town (Tuesday 20th November), Portsmouth (29th December) and Coventry City (9th February) over the course of the season. The reverse fixture against Portsmouth, which is likely to be a candidate for the biggest gate of the season, will take place at Huish Park on Tuesday 2nd October.
