Yeovil Town striker Steve MacLean has headed out the door on loan. He has finally completed his loan move to League Two side Cheltenham Town, weeks after an attempt to seal a deal had fallen dead between the two clubs. MacLean becomes the second player to leave Huish Park this afternoon, with Billy Gibson having joined Braintree Town on a temporary deal until the end of the 2011-12 season.
MacLean also heads to Whaddon Road until the end of the 2011-12 campaign and this almost certainly spells the end of his time at Huish Park. He made 24 appearances for the Glovers, scoring four goals, but perhaps significantly was not selected after his final game at the club - an away match at Bury that saw him score at Gigg Lane, but celebrate with a gesture towards the away bench.
Although the club said after the event that the matter had been closed without any disciplinary action, MacLean did not set foot on the field of play following that incident. He joins a Robins side still hoping for automatic promotion from League Two and has been given squad No.30.
