Tomorrow evening, Yeovil Town Reserves go on the road to play their Quarter-Final tie in the Somerset Premier Cup. The match against Clevedon Town takes place at the Hand Stadium on Tuesday 28th February, with a 7.45p.m. kick-off.
Of course this is the first match for around seven years that Gary Johnson will have selected a side in the County Cup - our recollection is that his general policy for such fixtures was for any player who didn't get on the pitch during the Saturday first team fixture to be a candidate for selection. So we'd expect the likes of Gareth Stewart, Curtis Haynes-Brown and Michael Woods to be supplemented by Anthony Edgar, Billy Gibson, Alistair Slowe and a number of players from the club's Centre of Excellence side.
Theoretically, club captain Paul Huntington could be considered for a run-out given that his four game ban has now ended. However, striker Kieran Agard would not be allowed to play due to suspension. The quirks of the system are that Kieran will be banned for the fixture, but because it is not a recognised first team match, it will not count towards his serving of the three match ban he is currently undertaking.
The referee for the match will be Mark Lawrence and he will be assisted by Alan Smith and Andrew Gibbons. Clevedon are charging their standard first team admission prices as follows:
Adults: £8.00; Seniors/Concessions: £5.00; Under-16s: £1.00.
Last season Clevedon Town's Social Club opened at 6.30p.m. with all supporters welcomed, whilst their teabar opened at 7.00p.m.
Address: The Hand Stadium, Davis Lane, Clevedon, Somerset, BS21 6TG.
Getting to the Hand Stadium is extremely easy as it is visible from the M5, and is signposted from the exit junction roundabout. Exit the M5 at junction 20 and take a left turn at the main motorway roundabout. At the next roundabout turn left, where you will see signposts for the Hand Stadium. Follow this road until the next roundabout. Turn left at the roundabout into Kenn Road, cross the river, and then turn left into Davis Lane, which is the second left. You'll find you recross the M5 at which point you will stumble across the stadium on the other side of the motorway. There is plenty of car parking at the ground itself.
