Yeovil Town are being linked with a move for Peterborough United midfielder David Ball. The Sky Sports website claims that Posh are interested in loaning him out before Thursday's loan transfer window deadline. However, they claim that League One rivals Preston North End are favourites to snap him up, with Aberdeen, Rochdale and Yeovil Town named as in competition to bring him in on a temporary basis.
Ball, who is 21 years old, has already been out on loan at Rochdale this season, netting four times in eight appearances before being recalled to the Championship side due to injuries within their squad. He is a former Manchester City trainee who has also got Football League experience with Swindon Town.
In reality it would be a surprise if the Glovers went for Ball for Thursday's deadline day, given they already have five players in on loan, and have struggled to provide games for Oli Johnson lately. Given that a goalkeeper is likely to be top of manager Terry Skiverton's wish list, another loan would leave him needing to push two players into the stands.
