Former Yeovil Town midfielder Lee Johnson is back in League One on a temporary basis after signing for Chesterfield on loan. The 30 year old has agreed a 93 day emergency loan to join the Spireites, with his parent club Bristol City having a 24 hour loan recall clause built in, once the first 28 days of the loan agreement have passed.
Johnson has been drafted in for Chesterfield's trip to Exeter City tomorrow, after their key midfielder Derek Niven suffered ankle ligament damage that will put him out of contention for the game. Rumours, particularly during pre-season, had linked Johnson with a return to Huish Park, particularly when City left him out of their squad that played against the Glovers in July. However, certainly that's one that can have a line firmly drawn across it for the time being.
Yeovil Town are due to play Chesterfield at their new B2Net Stadium on Saturday 5th November, and so provided there are no recalls made by City, they should come up against Johnson Jnr for that game.
