Yeovil Town have today completed their signing of Lowestoft Town full-back Curtis Haynes-Brown. The 22 year old is a central defender who is capable of playing as a left-back, and was born on April 15th 1989.
He started his footballing career by spending seven seasons at Colchester United as an academy player before being released without making an appearance. He then moved into non-league football, turning out for AFC Sudbury for two years between 2008 and 2010. Despite having trials for Ipswich Town during this time, he then signed a two year contract for Lowestoft a year ago.
Curtis was taken on trial by Crewe Alexandra earlier this month, but when they turned him down, the Hackney-born player moved south to go on trial with the Glovers, turning out in the mid-week match against Poole Town, and did well enough to earn a contract.
Curtis has signed a two year contract with the club today and so will remain with the club until the summer of 2013. There's no mention of a transfer fee, although with the player still having a year to run on his deal at Lowestoft, the club will need to have arranged something with the Isthmian League side.
