Yeovil Town manager Terry Skiverton states that he is on the edge of finalising a number of signings, with several players being lined up to replace his depleted squad numbers. So far, the Glovers have only five recognised first teamers from last season contracted for next season, with Gavin Williams due to be added to that list, subject to a medical on July 1st.
Clearly Skiverton needs new players across the board, with the need for at least ten new players to come in, although he is still waiting for right-back Craig Alcock, right-winger Billy Gibson and midfielder Alex Russell to agree new terms for next season.
Skiverton has told BBC Somerset that he has one player who the club have now agreed personal terms with, but has a number of others who he is waiting for responses from, suggesting that he is close to making a number of announcements:
"I've got a number of targets that I'll be talking to. One has just agreed personal terms with us now, and I've got two or three now that I'm just waiting to come back today (Thursday) just to iron out medicals, because they'll be looking like they'll be getting done soon as well."
Since the 2010-11 season ended, the following players have left Yeovil Town:
Released: Sam Williams, Craig Calver, Martin Gritton, Stefan Stam.
Returned To Loaning Clubs: Stephen Henderson, Shaun MacDonald, Max Ehmer, Jonathan Obika, Andrew Tutte (and Oli Johnson whose loan expired early).
Rejected Contract Offers: Andy Welsh (Carlisle), Dean Bowditch, Nathan Smith (Chesterfield), Adam Virgo (Bristol Rovers).
