Not a good day to be a League One manager - Brentford boss Andy Scott has been sacked. The TalkSport radio station is claiming that the Bees manager has been dismissed, following their Tuesday night 4-1 drubbing by bottom four side Dagenham and Redbridge.
Scott has been in charge at Griffin Park since December 2007, and took them to promotion from League Two during the 2008-09 season by winning the divisional title. However, their recent results have been nothing short of catastrophic - including two defeats against Yeovil Town during January. They have not won a match since New Year's Day, and have lost six out of their last seven League One matches.
As a consequence, they have slipped from being in 9th place and one point off the play-offs on New Years Day, to being 19th in League One and just two points off the relegation zone. Unconfirmed reports suggest that striker Nicky Forster has been placed in charge temporarily.
Sheffield Wednesday have confirmed earlier reports that Alan Irvine has been fired this morning.
