Yeovil Town Football Club will be playing host to the town's first ever Half Marathon. The event will take place on Sunday March 27th 2011 and will both start and finish at Huish Park. The 13.1 mile route will cover a large proportion of the town, including Thorne Lane, Mudford Road, Princes Street, Middle Street, Sherborne Road, Hendford Hill, Lysander Road and Bunford Lane. There is also a route through Ninesprings Country Park.
The route will also take in a couple of the outlying villages to the west of the town, including Lower Odcombe and Lufton before eventually returning back into Huish Park for the finish of the race. The event has been timed to act as a candidate warm-up race for those looking to compete in the London Marathon later that year, but is open to all running abilities.
Entry is on-line only, via the link below. No registrations will be allowed on the day of the race, but the organisers expect the registration process to be open up until a few days before the event. There will be an entry fee of £15.00. For further information on the event, email email@example.com or call 07904 668682.
