Officials for Yeovil Town's away trip to Swindon Town have been announced. The match takes place on Saturday 15th January at the County Ground, with a 3.00p.m. kick-off. The man in charge for the match will be Neil Swarbrick (Lancashire).
For those who like omens, the last time we had Mr Swarbrick saw us gain an away win against a West Country club situated along the M4 motorway. Our October 2009 match was Terry Skiverton's first ever away win and gave us THAT moment from Terrell Forbes as the Glovers came back from a goal down to win 2-1. We had a slight grumble about Mr Swarbrick's lack of a decision for a potential Ryan Mason penalty, but given that he gave us two good free kicks on the edge of the Rovers box that gave us both goals, we can't have too many loud complaints about his performance.
Aside from two occasions when he has been running the line at Bury and Darlington, the only other time we saw him as a match referee was the 0-0 draw against Doncaster Rovers that saw our first ever trip to the Keepmoat Stadium.
This was a frustrating stop-start match throughout anyway, but Mr Swarbrick probably didn't help the game flow by some minor irritances throughout the game that saw one too many unnecessary free kicks given. Nothing major to alter the outcome of the game, but certainly when Nathan Jones became the game's only booking for taking a free kick too quickly it rather summed up the night as a whole.
Mr Swarbrick will be assisted by Adam Crysell (Essex) and John Busby (Oxfordshire). The Fourth Official will be Steve Cook (Derbyshire).
