Last Saturday's fundraising activities concerning the two funds set up in Adam Stansfield's name have raised close to three thousand pounds. At the League One match between Yeovil Town and Exeter City, a collection at half time and full time raised a total sum of £2,536.74. This includes just over £100 collected a few miles down the road at Raleigh Grove, where Sherborne Town Football Club organised their own collection.
The coffers were boosted even further by the £340 that was raised by the Yeovil Town Supporters vs Exeter City Supporters match in the morning. All of the money raised will go towards the Adam Stansfield Football Foundation and the Adam Stansfield Family Fund.
Given that the mammoth run undertaken by Grecians fan Nick Bryant and Adam's brother Paul Stansfield has so far raised £2,888 for Cancer Research UK, the total raised in the name of charitable/trust causes stands close to £6,000. Both clubs have yet to complete the auction of the players' shirts worn by both teams, so those figures should continue to grow.
Well done to those who contributed, and in particular those who put in the organisational effort to make such things happen.
