The byes and groups for the First Round of the Football League Trophy have been announced. There is no bye for Yeovil Town this season. Those clubs receiving byes are as follows:
Northern Section - Bradford City, Burton Albion, Bury, Carlisle United, Crewe Alexandra, Huddersfield Town, Peterborough United, Stockport County;
Southern Section - Barnet, Bristol Rovers, Cheltenham Town, Colchester United, Hereford United, Milton Keynes Dons, Plymouth Argyle, Wycombe Wanderers.
The Glovers have been placed in the Southern Section - West, and thus will be drawn against one of:
AFC Bournemouth, Aldershot Town, Exeter City, Oxford United, Trophy holders Southampton, Swindon Town or Torquay United.
For the record, the other regional groups are:
Northern Section - West
Accrington Stanley, Macclesfield Town, Morecambe, Oldham Athletic, Port Vale, Rochdale, Shrewsbury Town, Tranmere Rovers;
Northern Section - East
Chesterfield, Hartlepool United, Lincoln City, Northampton Town, Notts County, Rotherham United, Sheffield Wednesday, Walsall;
Southern Section - East
Brentford, Brighton & Hove Albion, Charlton Athletic, Dagenham & Redbridge, Gillingham, Leyton Orient, Southend United, Stevenage.
The Round One Draw will take place on Sky's Soccer AM on Saturday 14th August 2010. Ties will be played in the week commencing August 30th.
