For those wanting to see a new ground, or who live in the area, Yeovil Town will be taking a Centre of Excellence side to Bowdens Park, home of Cheddar football club tomorrow afternoon. With the first team squad at home to Swansea City on the same date and time, this match will be almost exclusively filled with players from Yeovil's Under-18s side.
Cheddar play in the Somerset County Football League Premier Division, and finished 7th last season. A chance to finish as high as fourth was denied by a points deduction. This will be their first pre-season friendly of the summer and Cheddar manager Tim Richens told the Western Daily Press that despite the likely make-up of Yeovil's side that it would be a tough one to start with:
"We have thrown ourselves in at the deep end. It's our first pre-season game and it should be a good test. They will bring a lot of youngsters but the young players they play will all have quality. The teams should be like for like as we have a very young squad and we always try to play football. We have never been a physical side and I hope the way we play will set the tone for the season."
The game kicks off at 3.00p.m. For directions and admission prices, see yesterday's article linked below.
