Yeovil Town are reported to have taken a striker from non-league AFC Sudbury on trial. Striker Craig Calver is named by the Suffolk Free Press as being on trial at Huish Park, and state that the player will be absent for their pre-season friendly on Saturday.
AFC Sudbury were formed from a merger of Sudbury Town and Sudbury Wanderers in 1999. In the coming season they will play in Isthmian League Division One North, having last season played in the Southern League Division One Midlands.
Calver is a 19 year old who joined AFC Sudbury on March 25th 2010 after being released by Southend United where he was a first year professional. He has had loan spells with St Albans City and Braintree Town. During his short time with Sudbury he had scored twice in nine appearances.
Calver was formerly on the books of Ipswich Town and was given a one year contract with Southend in March 2009 after he had scored 16 goals in 18 starts for Southend's Under 18s side.
